A unique mission

When most people think of missions or missionaries they think of feeding the poor, caring for orphans, building schools, or providing help with clean water or agriculture. You might think of a mission trip you took or know a missionary that was on the field for a specific amount of time.

Our mission is different. I like to label it as “Mental Health Missions”. There are some organizations doing such programs but not enough.

The vision for Trauma Recovery Center Nicaragua (TRCN) requires a lifetime commitment and I am up for that. TRCN’s main goal is to train Nicaraguans in Jesus Centered Trauma Recovery and then send them out to either practice their new knowledge in their communities and/or to train others in their communities.

The goal is to provide the environment in which skilled community leaders can be multiplied and then multiply again.

Can you just imagine what a difference that will make in the heart of an abused little girl, or the parent who is desperate for help for their child? Just imagine. The ripple effects are astronomical.

What we are

We are an internship driven training center for Mental Health Professionals, Teachers, Pastors and Community Leaders.

Our training focus:

Our goal is to teach solid counseling skills, the integration of psychology and Christian values and truth, and Jesus centered trauma recovery techniques.

Our training program:

Our training program includes traditional learning with class time and testing, receiving counseling and trauma healing, observation and then finally supervised practicum which allows the trainee to master the skills they have learned.

Once a student graduates from the program, they will go back to their communities to serve and if they so desire to teach others using our curriculum and protocols. This will be the measure of our greatest success as we train trainers that can take what they have learned and impart that knowledge to other leaders in their communities
